The Russian sports gymnastics Federation (FSGR) will give a protest for refereeing at the 2010 World Cup, which ended on October 24 in Rotterdam. The Russians will challenge judges in the final tournament in supporting women, where the Russian national team was represented by Aliya Mustafina and Tatyana Nabieva, the whole sport agency reports.

The head coach of the Russian national team Andrei Rodionenko claims that the judges incorrectly appreciated the complexity of the second jumps by Mustafina and Nabieva, reducing it from 6.1 points to 5.7 points. As a result, Mustafina took second place, and Nabieva – the fifth.

The Russian delegation tried to give a protest on the day of the competition (October 23), but the Technical Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) did not accept the protest. The members of the Technical Committee referred to the fact that the Russians did not manage to apply for four minutes allotted by the regulations. According to Rodionenko, the Russian delegation had to make a short statement, but a detailed explanation, which took about five minutes.

Rodionenko added that no later than October 26, the FSGR will send another protest to the International Federation, which should be considered on the merits of October 28 at the FIG executive committee.

Gold in supporting women was won by American Alicia Saramone, silver – Mustafina, bronze – Brazilian Zhade Fernandez Barbosa. If the protest of the Russian Federation will be satisfied, then Mustafina will receive gold, Nabiev – silver, and bronze will go to Saramone.

At the 2010 World Cup, the Russian team took second place in the team standings, losing only to China. The Russian women's team won gold in the team tournament, and Mustafina became the best in absolute all -around. In addition, Mustafina won three silver medals in separate forms (on the bars, in jumping and free exercises). Anton Goltsutskov became the second in the jump.
