In the capital of Karelia, from April 22 to 24, international robotics competitions RoboSkills 2022 were already 7 times. Since 2014, PetrGU, Children's Technopark Quantorium Sampo, Lyceum No. 1 and the Roboskills community are organizing these competitions. The idea came to the organizers after they visited the Robofinist festival, which has been held in St. Petersburg for many years. It should be noted that part of the competition from the event program is just the qualifying stage for this festival, as well as to Robocup competitions in Tomsk. Previously, robotics have already been developed in the city, but mostly students did this. RoboSkills did it for children and for educational purposes: the project should tell, explain, captivate and give their strength to try.

This year, 272 people from 162 teams took part in this year. In 2020, due to Covid, the event was first held in online format. Then the organizers realized that not only children from Karelia, but also participants from other regions and even countries can be attracted to him. Now the competition always has three types of contests: online, full -time and correspondence. This year, online events were collected by 24 participants from Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Germany and Finland. If we talk about Russia, then it is represented by participants from 16 regions, including 163 people from Karelia.

Full-time events took place on the basis of the Physics and Technical Institute of PetrSU. Young robotics came to try their robots in action. We went there to make a photo report for you.
