On the official portal of legal information on May 24, the Russian government ordered 44 small airfields for the closure for servicing aircraft. The list includes more than 15 airy harbors located in the Arkhangelsk region: Verkhnyaya Goldenia, Kotlas, Leshukonskoye, Lopschenga, Mezen, Onega, Pertominsk and others. Most of them are located in hard -to -reach places where air transport is almost the only opportunity to deliver passengers.

The press service of the government of the Arkhangelsk region hastened to reassure the northerners. It turned out that these airfields have been functioning in the status of landing sites for several years. And in the state register of airfields, only airports of Arkhangelsk (Talagi) and Vaskovo are listed.

-As for the document, we are talking about bringing into compliance with the regulatory framework. On the transportation of passengers and baggage, the work of aircraft will not be reflected. All landing sites, including those located in the Arkhangelsk region, work as usual, ”the Ministry of Transport of the Arkhangelsk Region said.

By the way, in early May, the heads of seven companies that perform flights on local or interregional routes sent a letter to Mikhail Mishustin, where they warned about the risk of closing small airports due to “tremendous costs” on new safety requirements. The press service of the Ministry of Transport then assured that adjustments that reduce the costs of operators of small airports will be made to the resolution.
