The court terminated the case against the Udmurt newspaper due to indistinguishable compulsory copies

Lyudmila Lechnitskaya, editor -in -chief of the Glazov Orthodox newspaper Orthodox, turned to the media protection center* after she received two protocols on an administrative offense under Art. 13.3 Code of Administrative Offenses.

According to the press service of the center, the department established that the editorial office of the newspaper and the editor itself violated Art. 7 of the Law “On the Compulsory Institution of the Document”, namely, they did not send within seven days the printed copy of the first issue of the newspaper in ITAR-TASS and the Russian State Library.

Together with the lawyer, the editorial office formed a position for a speech in court: due to insignificance of violation, they must be exempted from liability.

“We tried to prove that the fact of an instance of the newspaper’s copy to the library could not do significant harm to citizens, society and the state. Therefore, there were every reason to recognize the committed offense insignificant and limit yourself to an oral remark, ”explained the lawyer of the media protection center* Ekaterina Zuban.

As a result, the justice of the peace decided to terminate the administrative offense in relation to the editorial office of the publication of Orthodox Glazov and its editor, regarding the offense as an insignificant. The court noted the lack of real harm from the offense, as well as the fact that the editorial office of the newspaper and the editor pleaded guilty, so he limited himself to an oral remark.
